In this world but not of it!

If we need any further evidence whatsoever that we need to fall upon our knees and cry out to the Lord to work upon the hearts of His people, stirring up repentance toward and faith in Christ, then read this following article. I have no other words other than to say I find this quite literally shameful! How on earth can we even dare to consider ourselves a "Christian" nation, and yet allow the devil to take the proverbial in such a way without even being challenged? Lord save us please!

For the first time in a quite a long while, after going to your link, I sit here quite literally, speechless.  crying  no no I wonder just how far the perversion will be allowed to go, before the Lord's return. It is truly quite terrifying that they have no Fear of the Lord whatsoever.... Oh that their eyes will be opened and soon, in His infinite mercy, to what they are doing.

It must be bad.  My internet service provider blocked it as family unfriendly.

I don't get all this stuff about making Christianity relevant.

*There are about 6 Billion people in the world, those 6 Billion have about 100% chance of dying.
* Jesus offers eternal life...so isn't that even a little bit relevant?

A lot of those featured in The Sun will be pretty embarrassed in a couple of years or so!

I hear this same buzz word from my own son many times when we talk about church. He is locked, stock and barrell, involved in a purpose driven church and this is the thing about church that seems to come out... being relevant (it is a phrase he uses all the time)... which IMHO... is nothing more than softening the gospel so that you don't scare away the masses that come to a "good show" and present them a fun-filled day that touches their emotions with an un-relavant false love of God so that when they are asked to bow their heads and not be embarassed by the pastor and he can acknowledge that their hands have lifted... "WELCOME TO THE FAMILY OF GOD... oh but let's not offend them by telling them they are sinners, headed for the wrath of God unless they repent and believe... That's not relevant!!!!

I am so sick of this attitude in the church, that left to my own devices I would have a tendency to do something really stupid and reckless in reaction. I hate, hate, HATE the lily livered, half soaked, unrighteous, bile inducing, man centred, cross absent, mess of a message, that many in the church claim as the gospel today. I would sooner poke out my own eyes with a rusty tent peg than to turn to that garbage again, let alone turn others to it too. Heaven help me! censored

How long will it take to sink in that it is NOT, nor is it EVER going to be, hip, cool and relevant, to be a Christian? And if by some chance a person claiming to be a Christian finds such a message to proclaim, that is widely accepted and taken to heart by this world, they are certainly not following the same Jesus Christ as I!

Jesus Christ is the Rock of Offense to all who do not believe, and THAT IS THE MAJORITY! The Gospel of Christ crucified for our sins, and risen again for our justification, is a message of offence and stupidity to the lost in this world, which again IS THE MAJORITY! I tell you what guys, I truly find it a struggle to not sin in my anger sometimes, and praise the Lord with all of my heart that somehow is Grace is sufficient for a wretch like me.

This is my first post.  I just wanted to say John that you brightened my day and gave me a laugh with your description of the church.

Great to see zeal for God.
