Reason for revision of previous recording.

In the previous entry I made, there is a link to a recorded message I made a couple of days ago. As stated, I edited out a statement I made in the message, and I would simply like to make it clear why I did so.

I recorded the message out a desire to make a wake up call to those in the church who are what could be described as luke warm in their faith, that they would begin to take their faith in Christ seriously, or face the consequences. As a result, much of the message is aimed at making listeners realise the extent the Father in Heaven inflicted His own Son upon the Cross on their behalf. My desire was to shake the apostate into the realisation that at some point, God would hold those who reject His Son accountable for their sin to be sure, but those who call themselves by His name and yet have the audacity not to pick up their cross and follow Him; they would have their own special place reserved in Hell in that Last Day.

During this message I attacked the lie that is so often bandied around the pulpits of the Body of Christ, I once actually thought it was in Scripture itself! The lie is this: "God hates the sin, but loves the sinner." When this was spoken, it became such a controversial issue that it seemed to detract from the main thrust of the message when heard by those in my home group, so out of a genuine desire not to allow diversion to creep into the message, I removed this portion of it.

Because of the ferocity of feeling towards this statement, I determined myself to seek God for clear black and white scriptural reference to back up my comment, so that I could show that my statement had absolutely nothing to do with my own personal opinion, or even my interpretation of what the Word of God actually says. As I prayed and read the Word today, the Holy Spirit guided me to Psalm 5 which has given me all the confirmation I need for myself to be sure of the source of my statement, and also for any others who would care to challenge it. The Word of God says this:

For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
(Psa 5:4-6 KJVR)

It could not possibly be clearer from this Scripture that it is not only the sin that is committed that God hates and abhors. However this not being sufficient, should we not be satisfied already, the Holy Spirit led me to a short video recording of someone dealing with exactly this issue, in so much more of a confident and authoritive way than I could have managed. I urge you to take the 10 minutes it takes to watch it:

God bless,

John.
